Construct behind Harmony With Concrete

When I first started sketching ideas for this collection, I was at a loss. I had a vague idea of where I wanted to take things but knew I had to pace myself in order to accomplish those goals. The past 3 years have been numerous moments of reality checks. I have looked at these experiences as utter failures before but then realized how soon I started laughing again, or smiling again. Then I decided to just keep going.
In March of 2023 I had the idea to buy a motorcycle. I needed cheap transportation and I needed it fast, a motorcycle seemed like a great solution to both of those problems. The main dogma behind the HWC designs and collection name stemmed from this connected decision.
The Concrete work shirt, with its western hints of detail. The Padded Henly with its light shoulder pads and thumb hole functionality. The genuine leather that runs throughout the collection. Many features throughout the garments all derived from the love of motorcycles and the culture behind it. In a sense, this is my homage to that world.
The collection name was not decided until about 7 months into the designing process. I knew I wanted something beautiful but I could not stray from the destined fact that I wanted purpose behind it. Part of me feels cheated because I let it come to me and did not go searching for the perfect name to call this collection of clothes. Yet I feel so content with what was found.
Harmony With Concrete sings a ballad to anyone, that it is okay to move on. Learn from your mistakes. Harmony represents everything good, the balance, the feelings of joy, the passion. The concrete represents everything bad, the crash, the plots to quit, the struggle. When you go from good to bad so quickly everything's a blur. They come together and create a footing, readying you for the next fall.
While this collection only consists of 7 pieces, 5 of which are actual clothes for your body, I consider them to be staples made for anyone. All having hints of my own personal style attached to each, I made them with intent to share this style. With such simple pieces yet such importance behind the details this is truly a combination of my passions coming together to create something worth showing to the world.
